AAD Steampunk event revealed!

This year, we are doing our first Steampunk Ball! Vendors, Authors, music, performers and something hella special. So shall we get to it?

Olde City Side Show
is our main performer! And trust me it is exactly how it sounds! Witness astounding feats and visual eccentricities only the performers of the OCSS troupe can give you! And as a special treat, one of the members will be doing a special steampunk burlesque performance!

On top of all this, we will have a slew of awesome vendors for the event, Stuff sure to interest you. we will have a DJ for the event as well, so make sure you wear your dancing shoes! Psychics, and tarot will be abound as well!

Extras? How about several Photo ops around the event, staged, as to get the full effect of your costume, author readings, and a special booksigning for the steampunk authors!

Rounding out the night is an Absinthe tasting from the amazing Vieux Carre Absinthe and Blue Stocking Gin! We are working on the particulars (thanks to Eon DeBeaumont and Augusta Li) but we are hoping for some giveaways!

And if that's not enough... We have one more special event we will be talking about AT the event. Needless to say its going to be awesome. So who is excited? And who has their costumes yet?

Stella's weekend in Philly (IE: visiting the AAD 2011 hotel)

Hey everyone!

Im home from my weekend in Philly, where I not only went to Dorian's Parlor and hung out with a bunch of people, I got to finalize AAD rooms and schedules, and I stayed at the hotel. So first, before I get into it, this was the view from my room Sunday morning.

Trust me, it looks even cooler at night. So The hotel is good to go. The rooms are stunning. the beds comfy, and holy hell the shower (at least in my room) was awesome. As a group we have special elevators that go ONLY to our convention floors, and we have figured out all the scheduled rooms. The Hotel has a Sauna, pool and hot tub and a racquetball court. So you can relax and enjoy. For those of you coming in early, Guys, seriously, Your going to have a blast.

My other reason to go was to see how the hotel handed an event. Dorian's Parlor is a steampunk event that happens once a month at the hotel so it killed two birds with one stone so to speak. The Staff were amazing, everyone was awesome and I have a great feeling about the space in general. So heres some pictures of some of the authors, staff and I that will be at AAD this year, from Dorians!

So who is excited?

I'm looking forward to my first AAD conference and already making plans!! For those of you attending I have a question. What sort of promo do your prefer from an author? I have the ususal suspects :) Bookmarks, bookplates, coverflats... As a reader I always love bookmarks, but I'm always on the lookout for the new and the unusual! So if you have any suggestions I'd be happy to hear them!

Another question, I'm coming in early so I can do some sightseeing. Is anyone else planning to check out Philly? It would be great if a few of us could get together so I'm not wandering around lost as usual :)

Hope to see you there,

We are looking for Vendors!

Authors After Dark is looking for vendors for its 2011 convention, August 11-14th in Philadelphia PA.

AAD is an eclectic mix of readers and authors, and i know this sounds a bit broad, but almost nothing is taboo at AAD! It is a 18+ convention, 99% women, and attendees are readers of romance, erotica, urban fantasy, scifi, and fantasy. Our attendees are interested in a wide range of products and services, and we are the only romance convention to have an in house tattoo artist!

Are you interested in being a vendor at this up and coming event? please contact Stella Price ASAP for info at and she will send you over the information! Space is limited, but this is our first year with a room the size of a ballroom for our vendors! Also, please for ask for availability, as we only pick ONE vendor for each kind of goods (IE: one Bath and body vendor, one tattoo artist shop, one seamstress, etc) Though we do have several spots open for publisher tables still!

Please spread the word!
